Frequently Asked Questions

An audience is a group of people who are getting matched in a particular engagement. For example, your entire community or company can be a single audience, or you can segment participants into multiple audiences by criteria such as function, seniority or interest. Depending on your chosen plan, you can have multiple audiences, set different cadences, and determine rule sets for interactions. For example, a VC fund could have a ‘Heads of Product’ audience and match them on product-related topics, while also connecting the entire portfolio on universal topics of interest.
Orbiit saves hours of tedious manual work for community managers looking to connect groups of as few as 100 people. However, the bigger the audience, the more curated the matching.
Once you set the cadence of the engagement, e.g. weekly or monthly virtual chats, the participants who opt in fill in a brief form that informs our matching algorithm. We match participants based on criteria proven to facilitate strong matches, such as years of experience, function, geography, calendar availability and more.
Depending on your chosen plan, you may be able to customize the matching criteria and add or remove certain filters.
Your matching criteria and our algorithm strength eliminate the need for additional time spent on checking matches. We have an average NPS score of 80 across all our engagements to date. However, for those looking for the ability to perform match customization, this feature will be available for Tier 3 clients in early 2021.
We understand that platform fatigue is real and your community members are strapped for time, so we purposely chose to steer clear of any logins or cumbersome user profile creation steps. All communication lands directly in their inbox, where they can opt in to an engagement or provide feedback with just a few clicks. The only person with a profile and login details is the community manager — or admin — who sets the engagement and reviews the data.
All Orbiit contracts are annual.
We believe that every conversation has the potential to be life-changing when there is commonality of purpose between participants. We also understand that your community is looking for targeted, meaningful interactions. Giving members the opportunity to opt into topics of interest increases satisfaction and participation.
We provide an extensive library of topics, which include suggested icebreakers and talking points. The library is continuously updated, reflecting the most desirable and trending topics across all audiences. In addition, you also have the flexibility to create and customize a topic with the experience of our dedicated client services team.
Orbiit is the only platform offering curated connections at scale. Unlike platforms that follow a ‘chat roulette’ model, each Orbiit match ensures a meaningful conversation, strengthened by commonality in topic and profile (such as years of experience, company stage, etc). Orbiit was built with the community manager’s needs in mind. This means you have access to features that enable control of engagements and extraction of valuable feedback, ensuring that the admin’s experience is as smooth as the participant’s. Finally, we cater to communities of all sizes, activating groups with as few as 100 people and as many as a few thousand.
